So after your VPS has rebooted, or if we restart our node for any reason and your VPS is forced to reboot/shutdown, you are able to make it so that your VPS will automatically login again once it has booted up. This way your Web Server can automatically run again without the need of manually logging in through Remote Desktop Connection, only for the reason to get your Web Server running again. You can also put shortcuts to any other software which you would like to run, in the Startup folder.
The startup folder can be found here:
So how do I make it login automatically?
Well, its pretty simple.
1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Enter: control userpasswords2
4. Untick 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer'
5. Press Apply
6. You will be asked to enter a username and password. Please enter the username and password which you use to login to your VPS, your username is normally Administrator
7. Press OK
8. Press OK again
All done, you will now automatically be logged in automatically when your VPS reboots, and you will still be required to enter your username and password to enter Remote Desktop Connection.
You can test this by rebooting your VPS and check if it has logged in automatically by logging in and see if it takes you straight to the desktop. If it shows a screen saying that Windows is preparing your desktop, then it did not work. If it does not work, then please feel free to open a support ticket and we can help you with this.
